During our 3 nights stay in Amsterdam, we 4 of us were fortunate to get to know Glenn, a private tourist guide / adviser with his own vehicle to take us round to spots out of popular tourist trails. We had wonderful times visiting Giethoorn (Giethoorn is a mostly car-free village), where we could not find any established company organizing such trip. Besides, Glenn brought us to a tulip farm where no entrance fee was charged.
Most of all, we had a wonderful seafood lunch in a quiet coastal town Urk at a cost of only Euro 72 for 5 of us – about 50% less than that in Malaysia. In addition, Glenn charges are about 1/3 lower than a one day hiring cost of a normal taxi.

My friend and I went on the tour with Glenn back in April. We had an outstanding time. Glenn picked us up at the apartment we were staying at and from the get go it was fun and laid back. Glenn is very easy to talk to and we laughed all the way to the farm. The cheese and clog making were really neat and we also got to sit down and have traditional apple pie with coffee. Glenn then drove us to Keukenhof and gave us some sandwiches (he prepared himself), fruit and drinks and sent us on our way to see the tulips. The trip was very personable! I'd highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to take a little trip away from the city and see how the Dutch make the things they're great at. We left Amsterdam very happy that we took the tour and met an awesome dude along the way! Keep up the great work, Glenn VANS! ☺️

Glenn has put together a nice little tour, a genuine local experience.
Our group was 4 people, joined by an older couple from Germany (tour size is limited to 8).
The day started out with Glenn picking us up right at our door. A short drive out of town found us at a great little farm, where we learned about wooden shoe making and even got to make some cheese (it was Gouda!). After a quick coffee / tea break we did some shopping in the store (trust me you will, too, their cheese is so good). They let us wander through the barn a little to check out the cows and chickens and then we were back in the van. About 30 minutes later, Glenn, dropped us off at the Keukenhof with a great homemade lunch (sandwich, fruit, water, coke) and a plan to pick us up in a couple of hours. If we wanted to stay longer, all we had to do was let him know.
This tour was a great experience and Glenn is a fantastic tour guide. He was there when you needed him, provided some good historical information and let us enjoy our time in our group.
I haven't received them yet, but he has also promised to send us pictures that he took from the tour. I'd definitely recommend this tour the next time you're in Amsterdam.

Are you a cheese lover?? This is the tour for you! Well, at least it was for us! We had such a wonderful experience on this guided tour in the Netherlands. Our tour guide, Glenn took us through a cheese farm and showed us how it all begins with the calves (which we got to pet) all the way to the production of the milk and finally the cheese!! After plenty of cheese consumption (lol) we continued the tour through the city of Brock in Waterland. What a cool city! Glen was a great tour guide and kept us entertained and laughing though out the entire tour! Great experience and a must do if you’re visiting the Netherlands!!

Local Tourist offers great guided tours that shows what the real Netherlands is. They give the opportunity to visit the countryside just outside of Amsterdam.
I would definitely recommend Local Tourist for everyone who want to see more of The Netherlands than just Amsterdam. The guided tour is filled with a lot of background history, new experiences, beautiful landscapes and nevertheless great CHEESE!!
